The Stomatological Center was founded in 2001 and is a clinical department that integrates medicine, education, and research. It is a high-level clinical key specialty in Guangdong Province, a key medical discipline in Shenzhen, and a brand discipline.
There are a total of 138 medical staff, including 31 doctoral students, all of whom come from key medical colleges across the country, and several returning overseas students. There are 4 master's supervisors, 2 doctoral supervisors, and 7 high-level talents in Shenzhen. The backbone went to several well-known institutions at home and abroad for further studies.
The Oral Medicine Center consists of nine professional groups: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (including Alveolar Surgery, Maxillofacial Malformation, Maxillofacial Tumors, Salivary Glands, and Implant Surgery), Dental Endodontics, Restoration, Orthodontics, Periodontology, Oral Imaging, Oral Mucosa, Comprehensive Oral Medicine, and Pediatric Stomatology. There are currently 42 hospital beds and 70 comprehensive treatment tables, equipped with surgical navigation systems, salivary gland endoscopy systems, CAD/CAM, CBCT, root canal microscopes, laser therapy machines, intraoral scanners and other equipment. The annual surgical volume is over 1850, including more than 150 microsurgical skin flaps and over 120 orthognathic surgeries, with an annual outpatient volume of nearly 160000 people.
The center is also equipped with a central laboratory, which is equipped with an ultra-low temperature refrigerator, a fluorescence microscope, a fluorescence quantitative PCR instrument, a gel image processing system, a hybridization instrument, a microplate reader, a high-speed cryogenic centrifuge, etc., to meet the needs of clinical sample collection, processing and preservation, and basic cell and molecular experiments.
